    Penno High Winter Carnival - Entertainment

    EntertainMent Timetable

    Our 2023  Carnival was opened by the Golden Kangarooos Marching Band, which was a fantastic performance! Folliwing this the staged was packed with entertainment with the headline act from Penno student Moe Daley and his band The Bozos, as well as the crew from year 11 back with a performance from Nothingman, the Penno High Junior Stage Band and Choir along with bands and performance groups from around the district.

    Main stage

    The Epping RSL Golden Kangaroos Marching Band

    With a proud heritage, the Golden Kangaroos Hornsby Concert Band are based in the Hornsby Shire and have been performing in the community for over 50 years. Consisting of 3 concert bands, a stage band and our marching band, the Golden Kangaroos welcome members of all ages and abilities.

    The Golden Kangaroos Music Director is Stephen O'Doherty who joined the band as a young player in the 1970s, finally returning over 12 years ago to lead the way. Leaders of the Marching Band who you see today are Music Director: John Buckley and Drum Major: Jo Druitt.


    All the GKs bands enjoy performing at their own concerts as well as many community events around the local district including ANZAC services, marches, fetes and charity events.

    If you have an interest in learning music from absolute beginner to advanced there is a place for you - look them up on Facebook!

    Pennant Hills HIgh School Junior Stage Band

    The Pennant Hills High School Big Band and Junior Stage Band directed by James Loughnan are part of the school Music Ensembles Program. They have performed regularly at the Manly Jazz Festival, Opera House Festivals and in the local community. Pieces to be advised.

    Famous Performing Arts

    Famous Performing Arts is one of Sydney’s most premier Singing Schools. Created and Directed by sisters Chiara and Danni Da Ros (Season 1 Finalist on The Voice Australia) Famous Performing Arts develops and nurtures Sydney’s most talented singers and performers. Students perform regularly around Sydney at different festivals and competitions and have starred in shows such as Evita, Pricilla Queen Of The Desert, Matilda, School of Rock and multiple Opera Australia Productions. 


    Famous Performing Arts offers Private Singing, Private Drama, Group Drama and Musical Theatre classes, providing their students with all the tools that create the ultimate Singer and Performer.

    Carlingford School of Dance

    Carlingford School of dance is a family-orientated studio that offers a variety of classes for students in all styles of dance.  Carlingford School of Dance Irish dancing students will be showing off their fancy footwork and rhythms in this beautiful form of dancing.  CSOD offers classes  at North Rocks, Carlingford and a new pre-school class at West Pennant Hills. 

    The Bozos

    Newly formed band by Penno High year 12 student Moe Daley and his TAFE Music classmates. The BOZOS sound is heavily influenced by grunge and punk rock bands Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Blink 182 and My Chemical Romance. Front & centre is the melodic sounds of Melody Song, Drew He on Bass, Tama Williams on the skins and Moe on lead guitar. You won't have to fight for your right to party with The Bozos wrapping up the Carnival this year. They will be loud and they will rock!

    The Tin Heads

    Formed in the dense northern suburbs of Sydney, The Tin Heads are an enigmatic trio like no other. Comprised of Noah Lees (Guitar/Vocals), Harper Dorè (Bass Guitar), and Orlando “Lannie” Simmons (Drums), The Tinnies captivate and enthral audiences through their unique stage presence; and lead song writer Noah’s use of sonic exploration which he incorporates into their music.


    Sharing inspiration from acts such as The Pixies, The Backseat Lovers, Hockey Dad, Queens of The Stone Age, Radiohead and many more; The Tinnies create a powerful sound which reflects their influences and evokes listeners with a new, original alternative rock sound.

    For the near future... The Tin Heads aspire to share their music with the world, growing their fan base by playing great music to great people.

    NothingMan

    Having performed for the first time in 2022, Pennant Hills High School Year 11 students will be back again with their 4 piece rock band.

    Mikey Dummer

    Mikey will entertain you with a mix of your favourite piano covers by Queen, Coldplay, Miley Cyrus and Lovejoy, along with some of his own created music.

    Trent Black

    Trent is no stranger to busking, at only 10 years old he will amaze you with his guitar, ukelele and vocalist skills.

    Lachlan Winter

    Lachlan will amaze you with his unique skill of bucket drumming. Lachlan is a sought after performer, busking at the 2022 Sydney Vivid. Lachlan performed with his buckets for the Penno Winter Carnival 2022 and was a crowd favourite, with many requests for his return.

    Ethan Leuzzi

    Ethan is just 12 years old and will entertain you with his talents on acoustic guitar.
